Dinah Lance is the daughter of police detective Larry Lance and Dinah Drake, the original Black Canary. She grew up idolizing her mother's teammates, the Justice Society of America, and was trained by some of them. when Dinah grew up, she became the second Black Canary, member of the Society's successor team, the Justice League of America.
